Yes, you can open the case and adjust the laser but, no, it will not fix this problem.The laser adjustment only adjusts the focus of the laser, not it’s position. It’s far more likely that the problem originates not in the DVD reading mechanism but either in the circuitry of the DVD player or not even in the DVD player at all.One probable cause is that it’s set to read progressive rather than interlaced signals (either the DVD or the TV). Try switching he settings.Have you tried plugging it into another TV or adjusting the picture options? What about the settings on the DVD player? Some DVD players have a split screen setting that allows you to compare 2 different pictures.When tracking down faults like this, it’s best to isolate the fault by swapping individual components (The DVD, The player, the cable(s), the TV, etc., one at a time and checking to see if it solves the problem. Once you have worked out what component causes the fault, you can further isolate the problem.Try swapping out the components one at a time and post again with the info.Hope this helps.TV
